Wedding Registry Checklist: What To Ask And How To Pick
Building your wedding registry is one of the fun parts of wedding planning. It’s the easiest way to help your guests plan what they’re going to get you for the wedding, shower, engagement party, and other events leading up to the wedding. With all the companies out there advertising for you to register with them, it’s important to do your homework.
I know it’s easy to get caught up in all the pretty things online, but I challenge you to be a little practical too. For example, if you and your sweetheart are not avid bakers, maybe you don’t need the big expensive KitchenAid mixer you’ll only use once or twice. Or if you both hate traveling, you probably don’t need the 12 piece luggage set. This isn’t to say you can’t ask for those beautiful crystal champagne glasses to drink out of on your wedding anniversaries though. It’s all about balance and picking items that reflect your natural habits and interests.
As you start to build your wedding registry, keep these questions in mind as you visit the store. Remember, you can always register for more than one place too! I usually recommend 1 – 3 to give your guests options to fit their budgets.
What is your free shipping minimum?
Do you offer a completion discount program for any remaining items?
What is your return policy? (Make sure you clearly understand the terms!)
Can my guests place an order online and in store?
Is there someone who can guide me on what to register for? (The associate will have great insights on what has been selling and what is most valuable)
So now you have the tools you need to get out there and start scanning. I want to hear from you though, what’s on your must have list for your wedding registry?
