The Most Expensive Months To Get Married
Picking a wedding date is hard when you’re trying to stick within a budget. I’ll be the first to admit there’s a lot to think about! June is the most popular month to get married, but there’s actually two other times of the year where costs are pretty high. Before you finalize on your date, read below to find out the most expensive months to get married.
December is not a contender for being budget friendly. It’s known to be expensive, but probably for reasons you might not think of. You won’t be competing against other married couples for good vendors, but venues are in high demand. Many families and companies host holiday parties this time of year so venues book up fast. Sometimes venues and restaurants may even require a higher minimum spend depending on the city. Also, December is the most expensive month to travel so booking a destination wedding can be costly too. Both hotels and flights soar in price this time of year.
While you’ll probably okay for half of February, the weekends leading up to Valentine’s Day aren’t too budget friendly either. Flowers at least double, if not triple in price, so ordering tons of flowers for your wedding might not be the best for your wallet. Also, if you do decide to get married on Valentine’s Day, think about whether you’re okay with celebrating your wedding anniversaries and Valentine’s Day together.
Now that you know, you’re ready to make a list of considerations as you pick your date. If your heart is set on December or February and it’s in the budget, go for it! If not, be ready to possibly make compromises on design elements, but don’t let that keep you from fully enjoying your special day.
