The Farm Wedding You’ve Always Dreamed Of
The farm wedding has been a trend the past few years…but are you ready for a twist?
4 seats. 2 love birds. And 1 delicious tower of cannolis………Oh, and a horse!
I would have never guessed the day would end up looking as amazing as this when I first started dreaming. I’m not usually big on the traditional farm wedding, but incorporating tiny pieces of luxurious gold and elegant romantic shades outside is just my style. There’s something really special about picking out details for a wedding that flawlessly come together. Now that this shoot has finally been published in Wedding Day Magazine, I’m allowed to tell you all about it!
Here in Michigan we have the longest winters. It was finally starting to get green again and I was feeling inspired. I knew I wanted to incorporate the natural greens outside, but I also wanted to do something a little different. Most weddings have a multi color pallet these days, but as I was comparing tones, I decided to pick one color and play with different shades. I was up for the challenge!
As I had meetings with Jacquelyn from Jacquelyn Genevieve Photo and Ching from Design Quintessentials, we started discussing gradients. At first, it was only in the table design, but it slowly started to flow through the entire day. I asked my super talented friend Caitlin, from Invitations by Caitlin, if she could bring my vision to life. I wanted to create some type of ombre gradient in the place card display. We put our heads together and ended up with one of the most romantic displays.
I also love how people are starting to bring in their furry friends into their special day. It’s really a lot harder to do than it looks, I talk all about that here. Instead of a dog or a bunny though, the bride and groom were able to get some beautiful pictures with the horse on the farm! Watching it all happen behind the scenes, I truly felt like I was in a movie.
Now I’m definitely not a baker, but Bree from Sweet Bree’s absolutely went above and beyond to bring my dream dessert to life! I mean, ombre cannolis and a cake? Love sure is sweet!
